does the turbo 3000 actually work? they are still saying the michelin tires and this fuel economizer will save me money at a high cost. is it snake oil or is it for real? I just bought one and installed it 2 days ago. If these devices and tires show no improvement in my mileage, i will return the 3000 and go back to cheaper firestone tires i was using before. please reply if you have experience with either.

I have to say I bought one...stupid me. The thing showed no improvement at all. It may just be my motor, but I didn't see any difference in idle, power, or mpg. The tires is where there is proven mpg increase, but you got to spec the right ones for your operation. If you go with the super single tires there is on tire that has a worse rolling resistance than duals. I think it has the HD designation in it, but don't qoute me. I know it does have more tread and a harder rubber compound, which is why the resistance is so bad. If you are looking for mpg improvement go after the motor. Get the engine to run effiecently first. Look at the eighteen wheeler section here to learn more about the mechanics of the motor and you'll have a better idea which way to go.
Since you didn't give any truck/engine specs, all I can say is this. Put on high flow muffler(s), a FASS system or EngineMaxx, and your ecm my need reflashed (to a higher hp). A properly driven high hp motor WILL give better results than a motor that is lugged a lot. Let me know if ya need more help. -
i have one also. i was told that it takes about a month to see full results. but i don't know why, cuz you have 30 days to take it back, so by the time you find out its too late. so i just kept it

i know a O/O that used the turbo 3000 and he had a C-15 on a 18 speed tranny and he was gitting 9 mpg
-
I don't want to sound negative, but I want to see the proof. If he is getting 9mpg I highly doubt it is due to the turbo 3000.
Brickman and Paddletrucker Thank this. -
filling the coffers of the company that makes it.Hammer166, Paddletrucker, Joetro and 2 others Thank this. -
Every independent test I have seen regarding the Turbo 3000 is that it does not work. And in many cases it has a negative effect on mpg. The last test I read was from the Canadian equivalent of our transportation department.
The top 3 fuel savers were APUs, Super Single tires and AirTabs on tractor and trailer. And then they spoke of some of the aerodynamic attachments for trailers like skirting and boat tails on the rear of the trailer. But those are not readily available, the boat tails.
As far as the Turbo 3000, they found that their test trucks actually had a decrease in fuel economy, one truck suffered a 10% loss in economy.
Buyer beware.

Waste of money
When you look at their return policy - red flags right there -
They figure if everybody tries it - most can't run the miles within 30 days
Slow down - you''ll save morelarry2903 Thanks this. -
Worked for a lady who bought one and installed it. Later I had it disconnected, while having Fuel problem. While I was in the shop another driver told me he once had it, and it cost him some big bucks due to damage to the engine which it caused.
While It was hooked up did I see any improvements in fuel mileage? NOPE. Will I put one on my Truck? No Way. -
I bought one back when the price was $189.
I couldn't tell that it made any difference. Slowing down and good tires made a far bigger difference.
As for the guy getting 9 with his W9.................... sure he got that..... running around bobtail and about 60 mph max.larry2903 and Paddletrucker Thank this.
