I wouldn't give the nitwit a second chance to cost me thousands. We got two major screw ups on the very first load here. He would not get a chance to make a third. I'm fairly easy going on things but on other things i have a zero tolerance attitude. Blindly following a gps and bs log book violations caused by not taking them seriously are basically instant termination deals for me.

You are correct, sir. Both incidents were signs of a brain dead, lazy driver. That bear could have sank the company if he were a prick.

I’m also mildly concerned that the employer has not crossed all the t’s and dotted all the i’s regarding all the various FMCSA rules process for hiring drivers. But live and learn. Everybody has to learn the hard way I suppose.

As long as one of these drivers doesn’t go out and kill or maim other motorists, they should be fine except perhaps occasionally out some money and productivity

I don’t think not completing a line and making a wrong turn are major screwups . Especially it it’s a younger driver used to ELD and has never used a map book and ruler . We’ve all done things like this , if you haven’t you’re a better man than I, by far . No harm no foul . Can easily be retrained on these things

It does beg the question if the owner is running paper why didn’t he already know the answer before posting

How about you two just answer the question and not be dicks. People come here to ask questions to verify what we seem is the correct way. And if we are wrong then we would like to know the correct way from fellow truckers that might know the answer. I am proud to say I don’t know everything there is to know in this business but am very thankful for those that are kind enough to teach me from their years in the business. So I will apologize for not knowing everything like you obviously do! And I thank the ones that have gave me your input.

Well somebody woke up on the wrong side the bed this morning . Lmao. I was really just asking a question , hand . Sometimes owners don’t deal with the paper and never trucked . And leave it to an office lady or what not

All that aside your best future solution is equipping with a truck specific GPS and using Big Road on a smart phone . I think it’s like 14 bucks a month , it’s an electronic log app

I’m paid to drive a truck for and by my employer. If you want to pay me $100/hr plus expenses for my consulting services then we can talk. Otherwise I suggest you call a local employer consultant or someone like JJ Keller. Putting improperly hired and documented drivers, with little or unverified experience, unsupervised, in commercial vehicles with your name and reputation painted on the door is risky and dangerous
