I had the pleasure of replacing a thermostat this weekend and when I had the intake side of the breather off I noticed my turbo wheel was all chewed up. Can I get just this part and replace it while the turbo is still installed on the engine or do I need to replace the entire turbo?

Those things spin upwards of 100,000 rpm and balanced as an assembly.

You need a new turbo . Find out why it's all chewed up also. Dont want the new turbo to suffer the same demise.

SAR, Oxbow and AModelCat Thank this.

yeah turbo is not that expensive and you can install it. its very easy. probably got chewed up from previous owner had something go into it. No need to be alarmed. just replace the whole turbo asap. Somewone will chime in soon with a replacement part number for you.

    Oxbow Thanks this.

I found one on Amazon for 605 from JM Turbo Technologies. Any experience with them? This one looks like they were chipping wood with it.

That will be a Chinese knock off.

Get a genuine borg warner or cat.

We put a cheep remanufactured Turbo on a diesel motor out on the farm and one of the blades flew off of that Turbo and it's stuck on one of the Pistons and after that blade got hot on that aluminum piston it blew a hole in it, so we had to take the motor apart and replace that sleeve and piston. I'm not saying that would happen to you but I wouldn't try to get by Cheap when you put a turbo on.

fit a borg warner 0000 turbo with billet compressor wheel.

cheaper and FAR better than cat reman.

just ensure you check the CAC system and the ENTIRE air intake system for debris that may damage the new turbo.
