The VSS is the vehicle speed sensor and it's on the rear of the transmission.

    SAR Thanks this.

no wonder I couldn't figure it out. Lol. It has 2 wires. What happens if one changes the dip settings even though it's a two wire?

But I'm confused. The dip settings are the same on both odometers so why would it be accurate before but wrong now?

Teeth on tone ring at rear of transmission times number of driveshaft revolutions in 1 mile.

How do you get that figured out?

Ok, I think i got it.

Rear axle ratio (X) 16 (tone ring) (X) Tire revs per mile

Got that figured out, but the dip switches don't match the frequency, nor do they have a 9 or 10 on them. Also, what's s2?

    Thanks

This is not very scientific but what we did before google with no dealer information.
Early 9370's had a wheel sensor similar to an ABS unit. They were a continually a problem. We bought speedo heads for later model trucks. Installed tone wheel and sensor in transmission. Then used a magic formula. It required a pencil. Tire revolutions per mile. Gear ratio. Transmission ratio in high. Throw in some time, a pie and maximum engine RPM. That told you the real world maximum road speed. This is super seeded by eaton or spicer road speed calculator.
We had the driveshaft out anyway. Ran the first one wide open in high and flipped switches until it was correct.

Call freigliner as they brought Sterling they should have a code book you will need rear end ratio. .height of drive tires and rpm of tires revolution per mile if they say that they need transmissions number and model run you are talking to a idiot. Also the switches are referred to as on or off up and down also open or closed. .good luck
