Anyone have any first hand knowledge or experience with either Air Products or Linde? Thinking about giving this side of tanker a shot, and looking for a local gig. I've heard good things about both.

    Thanks!

As someone very familiar with AP, go with them.

Well when you say air products or Linde, that's a broad spectrum of products. Is it cylinder work, or bulk cryo, micro bulk. Etc...

Having hauled oil, chem, fuel, and now cryo. Cryogenic work is now my favorite easy clean work and if your at a terminal like mine that does LIN,LOX,LAR, and H2 you will always have plenty of work.

That's a very good question. Lol. I guess I will have to ask. Thanks, and I'll let you know!

In regards to air products, one location does CO2, the other does Nitrogen. They're about an hour apart, and equidistant from where I live

Both are bulk deliveries so easy money no doubt, you might even get cross trained to do both. I've been with air products for about two years now and I came from a union job. I've been more than happy with the way they treat us, and it shure is different working for a global company. They have been more than willing to train me in as much as I'd like to learn, and there is even the opportunity to advance outside of a truck.

It depends upon what terminal you are looking to work out of for each company. Some have more work than others, and some are union. Cryo is a good field of tanker work to be in. But each of the private carriers in the industry are pretty strict.

Lin has driver and road facing cameras. Along with a zero use phone policy while driving. Even if your on the yard a 2mph. The zero phone use while driving means no Bluetooth either. Linde has fired drivers for having a Bluetooth on while driving before. And has fired a driver in a team truck for getting out of the sleeper to sit in the jump seat while the truck was moving.

    Lin has 64-67 mph trucks
    AP has 58mph trucks

Lin is currently going through a merger with Praxair. And AP could possibly try to buy someone out again or merge with another company in the near future.

In comparison I can't say who is better than who. But I do hear some AP drivers complain about having a bunch of stops (5-8) compared to a Lin driver doing 1-3
stops. But on a side note Lin does offer a pretty hefty sign on bonus depending on the area. But you can't go wrong with either.

Those would have to be some really small tanks for that many stops.

How did training go for you? Like length, did you have to go to a training facility or just get trained at your location?
