Any of you OTR or linehaul drivers experiencing any leg soreness/pain/or cramping?

i don't think local p+d drivers have this problem? (which might be a big clue here).

i've had some bigtime soreness and even some very painful cramping lately. i attribute the cramping to possibly being dehydrated, but not 100% sure on that.

Any idea of what's going on here?

Stop more, drink more (water), move your legs up and down as you drive.

    Dehydration can cause this.

Drink more water, eat a banana, etc. Will help if that's the issue.

Could also try readjusting your seat. I get that issue sometimes an it's usually when I sit a certain way or my I adjusted my seat an forgot I did. A slight elevation around where your knees/thighs are on the seat can cause my leg(s) to get cramped, etc.

But yes...dehydration. Can cause charlie horses, an such. Banana(potassium), water an such will help though. My wife nagged me enough till I listened. Much as it still pains me to admit it...she was right.

    Good luck.

    Good.
i also should have mentioned that i experienced the cramping/charlie horse in the middle of sleep. Hurts like a mofo..........
And still sore even though it happened about 2 days ago.

But it looks like more water is the answer.

Bananas to for the potassium! Or something else if you don't like bananas.

Water is the first step though.

I wish you luck. Charlie horse pain sucks, especially if it wakes you up in the middle of the night. For me stretching makes it hurt worse as does not doing anything. Been more then once it's had me on the verge of a tear or two. I may have to return my man card for admitting that. LOL Rare but that kinda pain has happened before.

    Good luck, an stay hydrated.

Sirscrapntruckalot - I drink therefore you are pretty. - A drunk person.

I switched up some supplements. Yuuugggee mistake.

Locked up my back. Ever had a muscle cramp in your back? Was not aware my spine bent that far in the opposite direction. Two days to stand straight again. Legs were sore but pretty sure that was from kicking out trying to relieve spinal pressure.

Water, time, heat if needed......this too shall pass. Feel like a #### kidney stone through your lungs, but it will pass.

    Sirscrapntruckalot Thanks this.

I’ve had the same problem recently and am really concerned. Feel like there’s a circulation issue. And I’m home daily and have been exercising. But my left leg in particular is always worn out from the knee to the foot, and I’m getting foot cramps. The old intermittent claudication big time. Getting an arterial doppler done in the next week or so, hoping I don’t have blockage in arteries. I have put some weight on and am not a young pup anymore so it is a concern.

It helps to change positions while driving. Sometimes I'll sit normal. Other times i slide back and lean on the wheel.

A few years back I drove a end dump truck that had no cushion. I'd have to raise the seat to get the blood flowing to my legs. I always drive with seat down. But that seat was hard.

I don't use the gas pedal unless i have to. We have one truck that has no cruise. My legs get cramped up big time when i have to hold the pedal to the floor all day long. They also tend to get twitchy when I'm in traffic and can't use the cruise. Specially traffic that refuses to do the speed limit in the middle lanes.

Water might help but water also runs through the plumbing pretty fast. I like to get from A to B without stopping. The days are long enough as it is.

I run same 2 hauls locally.

Drink water and get some extra potassium in you...I've seen guys come out of their truck hurting with leg cramps..also get outta the truck and walk a few times a day it'll help...

I was getting that, cut sugar out of my diet. Seemed to do the trick for me. Plus more water too.
