Sounds like they are abusing the motors... Wait until the liners start breaking lose, LOL!

They trade every two years so I’m sure Kenworth does all major maintenance under warranty but not for sure. I just see the Kenworth truck working on them other than oil, filters and tires.

You can't beat on these motors like say the old N14, Cats or Detroits, even the old ISX. They are not made to honestly last more than 500,000 miles. With care, they can make it farther, but they are not the million mile motors of yesterday. The issue is the emissions, then the high compression and the actual design of the motor itself in the way the liners are set in to the block. The liners with the high compression take a hell of a beating. Then throw in the soot and carbon packing, and you have a recipe for disaster. Your company is finding that out.

It’s not my company. I’m just in there. We don’t get involved with their business. I’m just giving info of what I’m seeing.

2012 D13 Volvo checking in with right under a million miles (960k). Owned 14 months. Replaced radiator, batteries, and a lot of air lines.

Haul heavy loads. I'm always at 75-79k.

I'm sure lots of warranty work was done before she was mine. Ex grocery hauling fleet - slip seat truck.

Stressed it on a dyno before I bought it.

Electrical gremlins occur when the battery terminals get corroded- ez fix.

    Best $15,000 I've ever spent.

Fingers crossed it makes it to a million.

20 Mule Team and Justrucking2 Thank this.

A guy I work with has a couple dd15s pushing over 800k with no real big issues even emission related.

One of our guys has a 2016 W900 with CM2350. He had carbon packing and did the engine just a few months ago.
He changed his oil every 250 hours and yet it still happened.
I’ll have to ask what brand of oil he used.

since 2016 all Cummins engines are coming with anti carbon rings in liners... His engine could be 2015.
