Everything will not work correctly eventually, as drivers and the main safety eye it is your duty to correct the problems before they become unusable, Every piece of equipment is a tool, keep them in the beat operating condition or get used to sitting and complaining about broken things. Most problems are a easy fix, learn how to do them and then you are a valuable asset.

There it is.. I would add, if they are not going to repair the trucks start looking for a better outfit, but it might be a long hard hunt. A lot of companies will only fix the major things, like it sounds like your company does. They will let all the minor stuff slide.

Isolator bushing, shift fork wear, sliding clutch wear will all contribute to a sloppy shifter.

Like others have said, isolator bushing or the forks, potentially the rails in the top cover. I will say that the company doesn’t much care what you think or feel is a safety issue. Get while the gettin’s good, IMO.

To be a successful driver you need to be a mechanic, know basic electrical repair, a book keeper, a maid for keeping everything clean, a diplomat for dealing with others and just patient because you will almost always be shoved to the rear of the pack. Or just hold the steering wheel, they have millions lined up that can do that.

It sounds like it is definetally an isolator bushing... They are easy to replace... Pull the shifter and you will see a bushing about 2.5 inches long on the bottom of the shifter... Replace that and will fix probably 80% of you issue.

    closh and tlalokay Thank this.
