Just wondering if it's worth selling my co when I retire. Have had our own authority for 30 years. Have a steady route wi to sw Mo and right back to Wi. Been doing this for 25 years potential for growth. Next year is when I may pull the plug. It took years to get the customers and good brokers. Or should a person just shut it down.
Selling a small co?

Well I will tell you that there are people out there who will pay good money for an older established authority.
I sold a couple to former drivers who would have paid a lot more than I was asking for it. -
if no one meets the reserve, you still have the right to take the highest offer.
find out the auction house commission first.
i'd not sell it for rock bottom, get all you can get. if it's has growth potential as you say, don;;t be a sucker for a sob story, and sell it cheap...as THAT person will just "flip it".........and make the millions you could have had.Oldironfan Thanks this. -

Find someone to take over the routes and train them so they can take over giving yourself a bit of a cushion for retirement, then go have some fun.
Oxbow and highspeed1972 Thank this. -
