Just in time. The idea of keeping lower inventories. You scan something at wal-Mart it automatically gets tracked for re- ordering. Keeping warehouse at the fullest capacity and keeping product for the shortest time possible. Factoring your truckload as a part of it ( rolling warehouse).Term made famous by Lee Iacocca’s turn around of Chrysler in early 1980s. He took idea from Toyota who keeps basically no extra inventory of parts. The result being no longer needing to guess at 3rd quarter sales projections, building too many cars only to rebate the leftovers.

it's more like just about time now . in theory as the last piece was installed the truck was there just in time with more ....but like communism it sounds a lot better on paper than in practice they still might call it just in time they don't run inventory to near zero like they used too

The manufacturer doesn't take delivery of parts until the need them so they can reduce bricks and mortar, inventory, money spent up front and last but not least, the number of parts that need to be scrapped if they redesign something.

we get tired if we drive too long .... if you haul cattle you don't get tired unless you are 300 miles away from home and then drive 11 hours ...... I sure am glad the government has all these people figuring out when we are tired and when we need to take a half hour break it's all scientific and very thought out by highly educated people that actually don't really know how to drive a truck or all the other bs we go through but they learned about it in college so they must know what they are talking about .........

I know I have been driving for 30 years and I always thought a good 2 or 3 hour nap made me feel better but I know now that you should just keep driving because you can't be tired because your elog says your not tired ..... but if you stop anyways you need a 10 hour nap 2 or 3 hours isn't any good...... now I will admit that some of the rules do make sense like if you divide your week into 8.75 hour days you can do that every day unless on Tuesday you get stuck in traffic and take an extra 2 hours then next Wednesday you can only drive 6.75 because you are too tired because you drove to much 8 days ago ... that makes sense but if you wait until midnight with your finger up your ### you can drive all night because you would have recovered from last week
