frieght rates, will only fall as far as people are willing to haul things for there is always freight and sometimes the herd needs thinned out some and it will . I think we have several good years ahead of us but recession always shows up eventually and you can haul cheap frieght for awhile but those big payments and costs will eat up some ..... what might help is the many companies that are raising pay and that's good and over due for company drivers but it's really hard to cut pay and keep drivers when the rates fall and companies won't be able to last long at cheap rates
Rideandrepair and Justrucking2 Thank this. -
Plenty of folks waiting to be a victim... The Dealerships know how to polish a Turd, and sell you a warranty that is not worth SPIT. Welcome to the industry boys and girls!Rideandrepair, Opendeckin, stillwurkin and 1 other person Thank this. -
Yes, happens every few years.
Rates go up, everyone floods into trucking, rates go down and many go out of business. Rinse and repeat.
It doesn’t always correlate with how well the economy is doing. Load volume is through the roof right now but so is the amount of trucks to haul it. If the economy keeps booming things will stay good, however even with a booming economy eventually there can begin to be too much supply of trucks.
You have about 1 more year until the next herd thinning. No matter what the economy is doing. Two years after that it’ll be good again unless somehow a Prez is elected that pours on the taxes and regulations. (Not trying to get political just my opinion).Tug Toy, Justrucking2, Opendeckin and 1 other person Thank this. -

Kevin Rutherford says rates are going to stay high for the forseeable future. With a booming economy most people will have no incentive to go on the road as there will be jobs at home. If we can just keep the ATA from convincing the government to import foreign drivers to cure their “driver shortage” then O/Os should keep doing well.

1. An N-14 Cummins is a 12 or 13 liter motor.
2. Put dialectric grease on your electrical connections because it improves the conductivity.
3. You can teach a monkey to drive a truck.
4. We don't need to stick together.TallJoe and PoleCrusher Thank this.
