I believe many simply want the flexibility back...it would be nice to be able to shut down for few hrs during rush hour and not waste hrs sitting in traffic..

I understand and want the same but that's not what will happen, drivers will extend that clock longer and longer until it has the same effect of no log, much as they did with paper logs.

It sad to think someone would go out of their way to cut their own throat.

Depends on other factors like rates.
199,500 miles multiplied by 85 cents per mile is nothing to brag about, especially after expenses are paid.

I was getting to thinking wtf is a 780 anyway. Are they worth a ####?

A nice plus T2000 or a fat Condo is plenty for me. I worry about horses and casteration more than I worry about those sleepers back there. I remember my first volvo, A E series intergrated sleeper truck midroof of the 1989 retail year which was not not too few miles on it when I got to drive it one winter. It was a good truck with full bag suspension and not that stupid half bag crap. (That's the third thing I like, full bag suspension otherwise don't even bother pretending you have airride back there.)

Now those were real Volvo trucks. Aluminum cab. Not rusted out in 5 years like new ones that run up north. And option of engine maker. There were 3 names on those old trucks.
    Volvo
    GMC
    White.

x1Heavy and Vic Firth Thank this.

I’m looking at a US Xpress truck. Bigger Volvo 860. I assume it’s a company driver truck. But it looks like they’re a team couple.

My favorite Ford was this 1994 Ford F-800 4wd ext. crew cab with 8.3 Cummins.
