You get clear of the PO, Court System and so on. When no one Offical gives a #### if you are in timbuktu for 6 months etc you are free as a bird.

Then go trucking. But not until they officially unshackle you.

    Puppage and snowlauncher Thank this.

    Nothing.

You will spend a certain amount of time breaking off rust when you get into it. It's like riding a bike.

I was away from 2001 to 2008 (ADESA truck sales aside) and started backing in 53 foots with a daycab ford 9000 perfectly in one move. Shifting took a scratch or two then smoothed out.

The rest of your trucking life until your body degrades or retirement will consist of learning each day by blood, sweat and tears.

Funny thing about getting in trouble with the law is that you gotta serve your sentence in full before you get off the hook and can have all the normal freedoms of a law abiding citizen...
I'm not bashing those who have been in trouble, I'm just saying that you have to suffer the consequences and get clear before you take the liberties you once had.
That being said, there are many ex-convicts, ex-felons, and the like out there driving a CMV. You can be sure that they have paid their dues in the legal system...
