This is ridiculous I do not want my ushers or fellow parisioners packing heat in the sanctuary! :biggrin_25516::biggrin_25510: Why is this even a question?

In this day and age, there are two sets of people. Prepared citizens and potential victims. I'd rather have those I know went through the scrutiny of getting a C&C permit carrying, and not worry about some nutbag w/ a shotgun coming in and hosing the joint w/ bullets getting out alive.

I think I understand what you are saying; but the people who have been shooting up churches weren't parisioners but random crazys. Yes, I am a liberal Christian, but I am also pro-gun and pro-hunting. Just not in church. My fear is that by passing such legislation these looney tunes will feel more comfortable infiltrating the ranks of the normal, good people.

    Wen782 Thanks this.

If the crazies are coming, I think I'd put my hand up for sitting next to the guy who could shoot back. LOL

My Church has been packing guns for years... Nothing like, giving a criminal some lessons on pain..Maybe, he will ask for the Lords forgivness, after a few rounds in the rear?...Tazzers would be more fun !

Just because someone else is willing to sin and violate a holy place doesn't mean I need to. The church is and should be the representation of the "Holy of Holys" the place where man meets God face to face in order to worship Him and to gather with other believers for education, edification and fellowship.

We can talk about protection but the facts are we each have a choice to make when we enter the church: are we willing to strip all of our self away and meet God or are we going to try and demand that God bends to us?

Perhaps that maniac with the machine gun will kill me in church next Sunday morning. But if he does, I'll go to my Creator, my God, my Savior with worship on my lips and without having violated the holiness and purity of His house.

I realize this sounds like a sermon and I'm sorry for that. I've thought about this thread a great deal. There just comes a time we must draw a line in the sand for God not man.

    GAPrincess and Wen782 Thank this.

How right you are !...... I just know myself, and how I would react. The best way out of an ambush, is straight in it. If a man came into my Church with a gun, firing rounds off,..I would be thinking about others safty, and I would not have the courage to sit there and take it.
Again, I'll say; "Your 100% right".
That's enough, of this topic for me...
