no, he made it sound like we as drivers have a choice, when many times, we do not. we either HAVE to shut down due to time, or we shut down when we are close to our pick-up/delivery point. ''he should have known that, enough not to have said that.

I have a number of quiet spots around the midatlantic and around the USA. I can pretty much sneak in and get a quiet rest and not be bothered too much.
I understand some of it has dwindled due to increasing regulations against the trucking. For example my favorite road US 15 west of DC is limited to 65 foot trucks now. A 2001 century with 53 foot is closer to 70 give or take.Creativity RV Thanks this. -

2. Walmart. Quiet, food options, restroom.
Cities are starting to crack down on parking at them, but not providing anything else, which is a scandal all its own. Everybody is building warehouses, nobody thinks about where the trucks are supposed to park. We're expected to deliver, then magically disappear.
3. Rest area. Restroom.
4. Truck stop. Smells like pee, and some moron will take your mirrors off in the middle of the night.
5. On off ramp. Dangerous and might get towed. Only for the desperate or lazy.Creativity RV and x1Heavy Thank this. -
Not just mirrors but the whole front end off....
I think the RV insurance will eye that with a dim view of the problem.Creativity RV Thanks this.
