Galaxy 949 with a class C amp behind it, K40 antenna (yes you can laugh about it but it works).

Q: What's the difference between a porcupine and a ham shack?

A: On a porcupine the pricks are on the outside lol

Just kidding ham dudes. Just kidding lmao. I have been thinking about testing to get my ticket if I can ever get a break in the action

Associating technical information or knowledge with a person or persons is akin to religion. Revealed Truth.

    Beanie cap with propellor.

I actually love the comments here. And it seems I triggered the HAMs enough with my thesis that they all had strokes and died before they could reply.lol

Clean is what I want and seek. I HATE echo. I hate splatterboxes, I hate morons that are so overmodulated that you can't hear what they're saying, I certainly don't want to end up adjacent channels or on frequencies I don't intend to be on, I understand that if done wrong you can end up sending signals through local LEO and first responder equipment, government, military, air planes, helicopters, #### with all kinds of equipment and cost all kinds of lives there, end up cussing and fussing I've the walmart or mom and pop diner Hi-Fi... I dont want to do ANY of that.
Good clean communication and to be able to actually have a conversation from time to time more than a mile or 2 apart.

As for "getting my antenna to act right"... In in a company truck. I'm lucky they let me put non-factory antennae on it period. And I went with Francis 4.5' because good luck getting a company tractor-trailer somewhere ideal to adjust antennae with federal hours of service restrictions. Francis antennas act more like a broad band to where they're "tuneless" as long as your coax is good and measured properly. I dont know entirely how accurate mine is, but I have 1:1.0 on all channels on a truck and trailer in a truck stop filled with trucks and trailers and 0.00 reflected watts. So I must be good enough for what options I have. But the range still iant great. Especially where I run which is mostly mountains and hills.

I WANT to learn, I WANT to be clean and pretty well professional and courteous and I WANT to learn more and more about how it works, the ins and outs, why, how to fix and repair and modify and tune (yes I absolutely intend to have them professionally serviced and tuned afterwards on a good bench because I dont have the money for a Bird meter, SINAD, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer etc and really that's the only way to ensure its good and clean. On proper equipment with someone who knows exactly what is what and how to use it).

Bit for every question I seek the answer for there's at least a half a dozen HAMs being pretentious prices who are the OPPOSITE of helpful. He'll even where to send it is a battle. Probably the only HAMs and "radio enthusiasts" ive seen who were actually fair and helpful or informative in ANY capacity and 3specially in putting other HAMs on their places have been KlondikeMike (whom I suspect is Mike from Mikes Radio Repair on YouTube based on his mannerisms, way of speaking, technical knowledge etc) and who is it? hard Drive from Fine Tune CB Shop (I can't remember his forum handle) and theyre the ones who stand to profit most from not giving you ANY information because that's what they do for a living. It's ludicrous that the ONLY people who are helpful in any capacity are the ones who literally stand to lose by being helpful or answering the questions.

It's ridiculous. And CB MAY make a surprice comeback like film photography is doing (people are starting to realize digital photography is fast, cheap, easy and cheap and just isn't the same quality as film plus there's not love or passion or anticipation in it)... But for the most part you've got truckers and very slim few non-truckers, most of which just ####,with truckers.

Never in a million years would I expect you to run a Class C based on your opinion of them in the past.

    My opinion?

I said there is nothing wrong with them.

Others scream about how bad they are without ever designing an amp or building one.

Fixed it for you. Get their call signs and post them here.

People are people, if they're a butthole in real life they'll probably be one on the radio; amateur or freebander.
