Landstar takes 1.5% to get paid in 2 business days. CH Robinson takes $10 bucks I believe for the advance it’s been a while since I had that done. I will dig up my agreement later and see what it clarifies.

If I am owning my 18 wheeler outright, with my own authority to make a phone call to broker, get loaded (Bottoms up... ha..) and roll America...

That fuel card says... borrow my company money to fill this here rig up.

    ###### if I do... its my rig, my outfit and darn tooting my money.

It does seem as though NASTC has the best discounts. Someone said if you write yourself up at least you don't have to attend their class.

I just was reading a thread on here from a few days ago and I was surprised to see that some of the companies that you would normally lease on to give a benefit to an independent owner-operator for fuel discount.

I will have to go back and reread that. Maybe I misunderstood.

Yea I’ve heard that too about landstar passing discounts to outside carriers. Seems like that would contradict becoming a lease on a little bit. But it may be true.

We started at RTS fleet one getting .12 off cash price at flying J and pilot. After 6 months we went to the nastc class and transferred over to NASTC fleetone. A lot better too so far. See about .15 to .30 or more off cash price depending on where. I prefer TA petros anyway.

Edit: The not going to class part is for multiple truck fleets I believe. The class is one large undercover sales pitch for other services but oh well. You get to meet the owner David owens and hear his story and all that. He does have a lot of sway in the trucking biz and has some good ideas. Pretty cool guy and ta petros biggest customer according to the class.

I just saw on landstar website that landstar carriers can also get lcapp discounts.

Landstar fuel discounts are .26/gal at pilot, fj, and loves. T/A varies but never less than .40/gal, as high as .80/gal discount. Other fuel stops vary. Landstar now has on their app a map of all truck stops and the discount.

You enroll in Savings Plus as an approved carrier and the send you a Comdata card to get your load pay on. You can use that to buy fuel with discounts if you like.

    Dino soar Thanks this.
