Truth about pay for teams at Prime

Sorry about that OP and others. Once in a while I get a post about my drifting off topic here and there. If it's a certain difficulty I add to my ignore list and there will be no more of that. I usually tell them to add me to the ignore list as well. That way they don't mess up threads responding to something that I will never see.

 

I thought they charged teams an extra amount for the extra mileage.... and turned over the trucks every 2 years......?

 

Truck is leased by one driver, second driver has nothing to do with lease, yes, they run miles down faster so can turn it in quicker.

 

Would you consider mileage charge a variable expense, or fixed????

 

I thought the over mileage charges were a flat fee.....

But maybe I’m wrong....

 

Not a flat fee, It's per mile... Variable expense like fuel. Solo's pay over mileage also....

 

So it’s how much extra a mile over 12k a month..?

 

My wife and I team at Prime. We’re doing a lease purchase. We average a net of $3500 a week, that’s after ALL expenses-payment,fuel, insurance, maint fund, and even after we put a little over 30% back for taxes.There’s plenty of money to be made here.
If you like to run and don’t mind going coast to coast, it’s there for the taking.

There’s a lot of prime haters out there, most of which have never drove for them.

I’ve driven for multiple companies and a few O/O’s since I started driving in 2001, and I make more at Prime than any of them.

So what do you figure you two do in miles as a team to garner $3,500 before taxes? 5k to 7k miles?

 

We are currently on a 1600 mile run that pays $4000 with less than 30hrs to deliver it.d/h at both ends.
