I can’t remember their pricing on the warranty but a price on a brand new LT A26 Downsped truck, with APU, flow below, and the same deer getter you see in my profile pic is 160k. I’m working on replacing this nightmare KW I bought for my driver with an LT. That price I was quoted also includes a refrigerator, leather seats, the black cherry interior accents, the whole nine yards.
I didn’t care for the old Prostar. I had to drive one a couple times as a loaner when I was with Knight. I couldn’t get comfortable in it and I had better mpg out of the Volvo that was my assigned truck. The new LTs are a HUGE improvement over the Prostar. The price is right and the A26 has been doing fantastic.

Huh??? Aside from the dash the LT has the same cab and ergonomics as the Prostar (AFAIK). Have they changed the seats or anything like that? I had seats with adjustable lumbar supports and a massage feature - on a company truck! Sweet!

I have to admit that the old Prostar had a MUCH better colour scheme inside the cab: the greys were lighter, the light coloured cab roof made everything seem more open and spacious (it's like painting your ceilings at home white), and the red "brick" trim was very handsome. The LT by contrast is a dark box. It's the one thing that I find lacking in an otherwise nice truck.

Mine has the light color ceiling, black cherry seats, black cherry dash molding, and black cherry accents. The seats are different, the visibility is much better, and the steering column adjust lever no longer destroys my knee when I get in the truck. You could get it in the basic black and grey but I don’t care for it.

I'll give you that! I actually prefer the Volvo design - a button on the floor so you can make adjustments on the fly. Also, it's spring loaded, so when you hop in or out of the cab you can easily kick the button and the steering wheel will pop out of the way.

Here you go: I found these online. They look a lot like the old Prostar that I drove. Note that the privacy curtain also comes in the "brick" colour. I didn't have the black garbage bag cover on the rear wall "closet."

So this month so far, total hub miles divided by total gallons is 9.88 mpg. Last month sucked at only 8.5. I had a higher percentage of DH last month too. It seems the more DH I have the lower my MPG is. I haven’t many empty miles this month. If I look at all my gross weights and average it out, I’d say 71-72k. I’m loaded down most of the time with a light one here and there. Arkansas to the NE or SE, to Midwest or middle of the country, and back to Arkansas.

Day before yesterday I filled up in Morton, IL and from my fill in Monroe, NC to Morton, IL I got 9.02 mpg. Weight was 77k took 77 up to US35 to 70 and took 74 across on my way to Mankato, MN. I though something was wrong with the fuel gauge but it was right. I was really impressed on that run. I’ve been holding steady at 8.9-9.1 here lately.

106,018 right now. I’ve noticed that whatever the computer says, my real mileage is .17-.2 mpg less.

Does anyone have fuel numbers on the A26 that actually runs the speed limit everywhere? We set our trucks @80.

    Oldironfan Thanks this.
