We average around 5500 miles a week.
We also get quite a few hi-val and Fedex loads, those usually pay between $2-$3/mile.

We ran a load the other day from York, PA to Allentown that paid $500.

Plainfield, IN to Groveport, OH that paid $1200. 200ish miles.

Those aren’t common, maybe 1 or 2 a month, but they do have them.

Oh, okay. I was just wondering.

So that's roughly 0.64 a mile after all expenses, before taxes.

I see. So it's roughly 0.83 a mile before taxes.

I have no idea how that stacks up against what a good team oriented company pays employee teams with benefits.

Prime averages your loads, you aren't going to make bank all the time. They don't cherry pick loads for teams or L/O or company drivers. Sure there will be some favoritism...

There are loads that are undesirable for team drivers, or L/O, and company drivers. they do some dispersal, and there are alot of unknown factors in they way the do business, or what they reveal to you. Bit It isn't as clear cut as people like to think.

Don't listen to the "drivers" spewing whatever they think or heard from someone else. Just pay attention to what happens and put the pieces together yourself. between you, your FM, and sales. Company drivers run under a "Fleet manager" the fleet manager does just that, runs a fleet. They pay the lease payment, fuel, repairs/damage. Prime is a Lease outfit through and through, someone is leasing the truck either way.

It may be under a different company name, but it's under the Prime umbrella. They have enough money buy their trucks outright and setup a separate leasing company to go through. And yes, it's to make money, not an expense.

The cafeteria is a separate business, the detail shop is a sperate business, the place you buy flatbed equipment from is a separate buisness, and they are all going to make a profit. None of that is going to be a company expense.

I honestly don’t know if the average lease purchase teams do that well or not.

I really don’t either, but it works well for us.

We’ll also own the truck free and clear in 2 more years. We could buy it out anytime though.

I checked into purchasing a new truck before we signed up and this was also the cheapest way.

The only complaint I have is that the truck is governed at 65. The flip side of that though is that we average 9.5mpg, more money in our pocket,

Hey, ultimately it's what you're happy with and it's working for you it seems.

I just can't even imagine being in a truck for 5,500 miles in a week! LOL.

I'm on pace to run 5400 ALL miles...for the whole month ;-)

Yeah, 8-10k a week would be gross before expenses, like lease payment and fuel, and whatever else. Def not NET take home pay.
