That's all BS.
You know I'm right. Flexibility is needed.
I want to know why the data from trucks driving during HOS rules suspensions is never brought into play.
There's know way going sleep deprived is safer.
Plus you have to drive at night when visibility is limited, and the drunks are out.
There's no common sense to the current rules.
Because the soccer mom's that advocate them, aren't truck drivers.
The rules shouldn't be a one size fits all.
If you're a coward and go "Oh my P hurts, I can't drive." The rest of us shouldn't be punished for that.
We all like the current HOS

Denzel was drunk and using cocaine when he saved the plane from total destruction.
So should we get rid of drug testing pilots? -
Slow down on the drink. -
If we made a daily money amount, let's say $300 a day. Would HOS, ELOG or PAPER LOG matter?
Nope. -
Every driver should watch this entire meeting.
It’s an eye opener to the real problems with trucking
06driver and Truckermania Thank this. -
I made it home with 26 minutes left on my 70.
Then the e log crashed.
Then I got put on hold with log department.
Then the ELOG finally rebooted.
So I logged off with 18 minutes left, and 10 minutes of incredible stress due to e log.
Sometimes it take 20 or 30 minutes to reboot.
Now I have all kinds of hours. -
The problem is that your company will push you no matter what. It gets worse when you have things like speed limiters and your dispatchers use google maps routing to tell you when you should arrive at a customer. Even at that, their office software calculates the border crossing at 50+ miles an hour. Would be nice if that were reality.
I worked for several big companies now and every one of them had pushy dispatchers, heck even the operations manager would threaten the driver if you complained about rubbed off spots on tires. I mean, Schneider trucks basically never get pulled into a weigh station, but that's such a bad excuse for making new drivers drive equipment that should never leave the yard. But then again, you have to start somewhere to get experience. The companies know this and they use it to coerce you to break the rules; hard to get hired with inexperience, so the one big carrier that does give you a chance, are you really going to argue with them? -
