    That's all BS.

You know I'm right. Flexibility is needed.

I want to know why the data from trucks driving during HOS rules suspensions is never brought into play.

There's know way going sleep deprived is safer.

Plus you have to drive at night when visibility is limited, and the drunks are out.

There's no common sense to the current rules.

Because the soccer mom's that advocate them, aren't truck drivers.

The rules shouldn't be a one size fits all.

If you're a coward and go "Oh my P hurts, I can't drive." The rest of us shouldn't be punished for that.

I’m dead against suspending the HOS for any reason.
The hurricane people will be okay waiting for you to take a 10 hour break or two.
FEMA let’s truck’s wait for days to get unloaded anyways.
Im goes elogs in Ag trucks, they can have a team mate if they need to run that hard.

And the next time I read about a state suspending the HOS I will email the Governor or whoever to complain.

What you're against has nothing to do with the actual data from these events.

    Watch the movie “Flight”
Denzel was drunk and using cocaine when he saved the plane from total destruction.
So should we get rid of drug testing pilots?

If we made a daily money amount, let's say $300 a day. Would HOS, ELOG or PAPER LOG matter?
    Nope.

Every driver should watch this entire meeting.
It’s an eye opener to the real problems with trucking

I made it home with 26 minutes left on my 70.

    Then the e log crashed.

Then I got put on hold with log department.

    Then the ELOG finally rebooted.

So I logged off with 18 minutes left, and 10 minutes of incredible stress due to e log.

Sometimes it take 20 or 30 minutes to reboot.

Now I have all kinds of hours.

The problem is that your company will push you no matter what. It gets worse when you have things like speed limiters and your dispatchers use google maps routing to tell you when you should arrive at a customer. Even at that, their office software calculates the border crossing at 50+ miles an hour. Would be nice if that were reality.

I worked for several big companies now and every one of them had pushy dispatchers, heck even the operations manager would threaten the driver if you complained about rubbed off spots on tires. I mean, Schneider trucks basically never get pulled into a weigh station, but that's such a bad excuse for making new drivers drive equipment that should never leave the yard. But then again, you have to start somewhere to get experience. The companies know this and they use it to coerce you to break the rules; hard to get hired with inexperience, so the one big carrier that does give you a chance, are you really going to argue with them?
