    Love when that happens.

Well maybe they should work faster and work more hours to make more money. It not like they are government regulated for how much they can work. Such as drivers are.

They bust it man. The loads that take so long are the ones that's assorted, with a bunch of different products. A capstone lady was telling me how some trucks come with say a 19 pallet load, but then it brakes down to 80. I dropped at Sysco in Nashville this morning, it was the second stop. They took about two hrs. I'll live with that for food distribution. Those assorted loads take forever at Walmart too. That's about 4 hrs minimum

Ok so why on your mentioned loads does it need to take 8 hours?

I don't know brother, it's not often I have sat in a dock for 8 hrs. 4 or 5 on a bad day. Most of the times I've sat that many hrs in a dock is if I missed my appt and they have to work me in. There are rare occasions like RockTenn in Boonville, AR where they are just slow, and they don't even use lumpers!

    Oldironfan Thanks this.

Also, I always try to deliver on my 10 hr break. Then I am not pissed off when there's delays

    Oldironfan Thanks this.

I’d say wait times like that are mostly due to produce loads. Most places have inspectors or QC whatever you want to call them. If the product isn’t perfect, they’ll take pics, and email the buyer, who then gets in touch with the shipper, and try to negotiate a lower price. When that happens you basically go to the back of the line.

    KB3MMX Thanks this.

I don't care how many pallets my trailer breaks down to. Unload the trailer and cut me loose. Count and sort on your own time.
