I really enjoy driving a truck for a living. It's nice to be out, by myself, just getting stuff done.

I'm 50/50 split on my current job because I'm at the mercy of what the local construction/excavation contractors are up to. For the past month I've spent more time being bored out of my mind doing warehouse/yard monkey work than I have in the truck, and with the cold/rainy season coming upon is I'm not convinced it's going to pick up any time soon.

If I was still driving with a mega like I did when I was 18 for 2 years I would say no. Now in my early 30’s as an independent O/O doing 7 days on the road and 7 home hauling local. I can’t complain as I get decent hometime and get to see my family alomg with doing pretty well for a trucker.

I'm only in trucking until I can get hired for my dream job:
Test Pilot with a pillow factory.

I think a lot of us are that way. We are here because so far it’s the most stable paycheck. But then again I believe that’s true with most workers in all industries.

Not enough opportunities as some Trades look for experienced Leaders to oversee things . Aside from safety man or Class room
