How do most carriers typically deal with red light camera tickets?

Depends on the municipality. In the Denver area, photo radar and red light camera tickets are handled differently. They never used to send them to trucking companies or fleets in general, as they are easily ignored. However, in the last year, they've now started to send them out. The way my boss deals with it, since we all have assigned trucks, she knows who is driving. She'll look at the picture, if she can 100% tell who it is, she'll hand us the ticket to deal with, or she'll give us the option that she can pay it and we agree to the $40 payroll deduction. If she cannot 100% tell who the driver is, she'll send it back with a note that trucks are not assigned, and she'd not positive who was driving that truck on that day and time.

 

They are not real tickets. My city used to have the red light cameras.

The tickets are like bills. Failing to pay could result in them being sent to collections.

 

That’s because these big company’s over react. Any company worth it’s salt is just gonna pay the ticket (it’s in there name) tell you about it, not to do it again, and make you sign a payroll deduction form to re-coup their money

 

What collections could they do. Without a SS number attached to the license plate. And MAYBE the wrong face attached to the license plate.

I got a threat for collections. I don't know how they can collect. All they have is a pic of my license plate on the car I no longer have. No signs posted where the car was parked and no proof of who actually parked the car. But because I"m the registered owner. I'm responsible for the no parking ticket. Even though there's no signs.

 

Some states put a lien on your title can't sell car till it paid. These states are just to out of control no day in court must pay bill to city.

 

That's what it boiled down to, too. They're the boss. I got no say.

 

The way Denver works, if you ignore it, they send it to collections, they also will put the plate/car on the boot list. If the meter maids catch it on the street, they'll boot it. The collections people are disturbing, what's worse, they are not the only ones. In 2001, I got a parking ticket in Niagra Falls on the Canadian side. I laughed and tossed it in the trash, I'm in Colorado, what will they do. They turned it over to collections, four months later, they began harassing me. Even threatening to take me to court. It was $25 USD. I told them not so politely to pound salt. They actually had me served, of course I didn't show up, a default judgement was entered, a few weeks later I was served with a writ of garnishment for $100 USD.

 

Red light bills are bills. Now your company might make it an awol situation but they are assigned no csa points to my understanding. So in reality it’s no big no deal. But in the eyes of certain Corperate structures like landstar, they might internally make it a big deal. LS once took my parking ticket on a dirt lot in Hespira, Parked over 15 foot from the road, into a MOVING violation internally! So it kind of just depends on your company.
