Think your going to hear a bunch of people state to take better care of your tires.

Think it would depend on your situation.
If leased on to a company, they may have a tire program.
NASTC has it list. NTTS and Truck Down are also listings
Another source is next exit. Then you have the truck stops.

Paying for the road call is another item that you need to consider.
Cash, credit card, comcheck or ? Some will only take cash for non mega fleet people.

If the shop is near by, good deal.

I blew one after a 20 mile excursion on logging roads to pick up a load. Called Schwab’s, and ate my lunch while I waited. Luckily I was right outside town. Getting stuck in BFE with no option to call for help is a real issue.

I had planned to carry a spare, tire tools, and a way to seat my beads. The rough part is my setup has three different sized tires between the truck, and trailer. Carrying that many spares adds quite a bit of weight on top of finding a place to put them.

Stuff happens and you need to be prepared. In 4 months I’ve had to replace 8 tires out on the road. Previous 4 years before that was none! Unlucky with flats, couldn’t avoid ratchet strap that came off a car hauler, etc.

Carry a tire, a 50ft air hose that connects to glad hands, and a tire repair kit with rope. Always post trip every single time you stop. Catching a deflating tire early saves you a lot of money. Out of those 8 tires, none were road service required.
