I'm trying to get some advice from someone's experience :
Friend of mine couldn't stop in front of dealership to unload car , he went on the side street and as soon as he turned he saw the sign ( absolutely to way to back up in to busy street he turned from , " no trucks" sign visible only after turn ) . He unloaded car and tried to get out from that neighborhood right away , cop pulled him over next block , did his weigh and gave him 8700 ticket , my friend doesn't speak English much , he gave the cop his documents file ( previous inspection was inside with some violations ) , cop gave him overweight ticket and mailed identical inspection ( but currently dated ) to his home address without his signature or consent .
What can be done in this case ? Attorney offered to reduce ticket by couple thousand ...can this be disputed and dismissed in court ?

Sometimes you can fight in court without lawer and do better ...not always ..but it's better to have as much info on the table before pulling a trigger

Go talk to that county magistrate, or write them. Telling his side of the story.

After all he was making a local delivery.

I dont have much qualified advice to give.

Anything can be disputed in court, dismissed it depends how hard you want to fight and the facts. Obviously this ticket is worth fighting, take pictures of the sign, the location... and present it in court. The thing about attorneys is that most of them care more about milking you than fight for you. When hiring an attorney you must interview him/her so to speak, ask how the attorney plans to fight the matter in court. Any attorney offering to reduce the ticket instead of fighting it is a NO good attorney, just my opinion.

Is this the story he gave you? It’s unfortunate yes but sometimes it’s the way it is. The signs aren’t always right on the road. I good driver knows to look a little more in depth at side roads. Best I can say is to take pictures and measure the road sign distance. It will most likely. come back that the sign is placed within spec per the township. So what your friend will need to do is find a lawyer which is gonna cost him and try and get the ticket reduced. I don’t see 8700 bucks outrageous. Usually a dollar per pound for overweight. Next time your friend drives down a road and sees a restriction sign, tell him not to decide to stop and conduct bussiness on the road. Tell him to get the hell out of there or whatever it takes. Foolish on his part. Hell I have made one of those turns and then saw sign. I put the hammer down real quick
