So you would not even bother to route around the scales then in this example?

Pssst, get the Trucker Path app and it will show you whether any scale is open/closed as you come up on it. This can be handy for, you know, getting stuck in the passing lane or something because some jack*ss driver wouldn't let you over so you missed the scale......or something like that.

They are, but they always gave me an hour and three tries to make it right. I used to haul fly ash out of Chesapeake up to Union Bridge, Md. The scale on 64 used to know me by name. I was always heavy on the drives, so I'd slide the fifth wheel front ( fixed tandems), and off I'd go. Then I'd get to Maryland and get popped anyway. I could never find a happy medium with that truck and trailer

I have the app. Thanks for the tip. LOL

If anyone has tips for the scenic route in the vicinity of Joplin, St. Clair, Brownstown, IL, Terre Haute, the Michigan scale north of Toledo on 75, and the scales between Ambassador Bridge and Toronto, that might be helpful! LOL As I said earlier, I am almost never overweight so it’s never an issue.

Terre Haute closes by 3. If not get off in marshal on 1 go up to 150 and around it's not to bad a deal.

To answer if I would worry bout it, with my cow wagon nope never give it a second thought

I've never seen any scale that didn't have a one or two mile warning in advance. So when some ####### doesn't let you over because you tried to pass two or three other trucks in the last four hundred yards, that ####### is you.

    Yep.

    I get in line.

There's always 2 - 4 who race to the finish line. Then expect us to slow down for them to come over to hit the scale ramp.

There's even a sign that says bypass. ALL trucks use right lane. And shortly after. Is a camera.

Yesterday was a sweet moment though. Trucks wouldn't let him in. He was forced to keep on going.

A fixed axle trailer loaded by overhead crane...... it's not a spread axle is it?....
I sure hope this is a dumb question.....

Missouri would be my fear as well as (maybe) Terre haute. Michigan won't bother you and I don't think there is a scale on your route in Ohio.
Canada is 17000 kg on closed tandem (37,400) and Ontario is 9100 kg (20,000) each axle on spread axle setup.

He says 34,700 and his axles don't slide.
