Last winter I bought a really nice insulated hooded canvas jacket from Menards for $40 that is every bit comparable to my Carhart I left back in Florida.
Tractor Farm supply had fleese lined insulated jeans for $25 each that wear like iron and are actually almost too warm to wear on less than freezing days.
Good insulated socks and good insulated boots if you are going to be doing flatbed like I was going to be doing.
Hauling milk in a tanker now, I can pretty much wear shorts and flip flops for how little I am out of the truck.stacks, Dave_in_AZ, gentleroger and 1 other person Thank this. -
If its sub zero weather then go with baffin boots period. Carhart polar rated jacket and bibs.

From my experience last year, I'm gonna suggest avoiding Thinsulate related products.
I tried Thinsulate lined gloves and think made by Swiss Gear. The bummer is that while they were nice and warm and comfortable, but if you sweat while working with them on it will just hold that stinky smell and it didn't come out after trying different washes.
I didn't even have that much trouble with my boots.stacks and Oldironfan Thank this. -
If you spend time in ######## cold weather and need serious Winter gear.

You don't need to spend much money .
Step 1 Put on and extra layer
Step 2 -If still cold repeat step 1
Seriously save your money , extra layers works better than anything . Find a coat that that you can move around in .
Get extra wide boots and just double or triple your socks if your going to be standing in snow .snowlauncher, TripleSix, TruckChicken and 1 other person Thank this. -
