    I'm really not sure. Swift doesn't really pay well. Also, Stevens is low balling too.

    Well, I gave some good suggestions for someone wanting to get their feet wet in the oilfield. They (and you) can check those out if they (or you) want. And 99.999% of tanker work is driver unload, but it isn't hard.

    Best of luck.

    I can get into a Front End Loader work in max 15 minutes. The pee test and results should not even take that long. (There are like a million in Texas who can do the same thing)

    I am able to gain possession of equipment the Heavy Equip in short order. There are many demands on my time when things are busy.

    @Cowboygirl45
    Welcome to my world. You and I are about the same size etc. I've been in trucking almost 38 yrs and I STILL run into idiots that think with their little head.
    Here's what I say. Get a concealed weapons permit and a good Glock, learn to use it. Watch everything around you because it's easy to be ambushed especially in the oil fields. Men that you work with are NOT your friends no matter what they say or do. Do NOT get in the habit of running with someone all the time. There will be endless talk if you do and eventually some idiot will try to see if you're as "easy" as everyone assumes you are. Keep your nose clean and do the entire job. Figure out how to do things in a way that works for you since we as women don't have the same muscle structure that men do. Be honest, work hard and remember that you will have to prove your worth EVERY day. No PMS no personal problems are allowed if you are a female because then you become the whinny biotch. I love what I do and I am good at it. I'm harder on women that I ever have been on men because I expect more from them. I get embarrassed when women cannot do the entire job, it makes all of us old timers look bad. Jump in with both feet and you go girl!

    Just don't get caught with that Glock as most oil companies and trucking companies have a policy against having weapons on the leases. After seeing several trucks searched, I quit carrying unfortunately.

    And I've worked with numerous women hauling oil in OK and never saw a problem of any kind as long as they knew their job.

    I'll never quit carrying. Many of my customers have signs that forbid weapons, they all know I carry and are OK with it.
    Sometimes there really isn't a problem but some men like to make one. There are great men out there but it only takes one #$%^&*( to cause a woman problems.

    Holy crap! I'm in Canada and can't believe it's that bad down there! I also have many years in the patch, and have never encountered that level of sexist attitude. We must respect women up here a lot more or you work around ex-con/rapists! That scenario of fearing for your safety, just doesn't exist up here, and wouldn't be tolerated for a second! I came to this tread to give CowboyGirl45 advise on getting hired... but now I'm scared for her.

    It's not that it's that bad. It's that I prefer to be prepared. I had some issue back in the day (30 yrs ago) that made me understand that no matter what it's better to have the weapon and not need it than to need it and not have it. You haven't been around the right group of men cause the sexist attitude is a live and well at least in the south.
