idk what is the complain. im doing pretty good avg 8k a week I just bought a volvo and going to put it to work next month. you need to know what your doing and need to know where is the freight. if you run reefer you need to know what states are hot during different seasons. advice start doing a lot of hw reading on produces and what states grows these produces if you do reefer.

4 months ago we ran 17,500 at 3/mi fleet average. Last week we ran 16,000 mi at 2.50/mi. It’s not the numbers per say although they are drastically different. It’s more the environment and the feeling I got combined with industry tools available where I felt I should let people know things are changing. Guys that have been doing this will still find their areas or niches and be fine. The entire point is new entries are going to struggle big league.
I feel like people are taking my thread as an assault on current experienced operators or a sky is falling situation. I’m just saying if your standing at cliffs edge, the water is very choppy and coast guard doesn’t give 2 ####s about rescuing you. So think hard.
I’ve saw these situations before and I hope it reverses but I expected a reversal to happen already and only thing that’s happened is worsening.
Edit: If guys that “know what they are doing“ are getting 2.50/mi average. A total noob will struggle to get 1.75 all miles avg. With the conditions I’m seeing unless we see a reversal, I’ll eventually be down to 2.30/mi and noobs will be at 1.55 going broke whether they realize it or not. My thread is merely a flare shot into the sky. Anybody can make it the last 1.5 yrs.Last edited: Oct 20, 2018
