Most folks make more of it than it is. Do a good pre trip and you will be fine.
However I saw a couple guys go home because it was a "kick the tire" (not plural just the one) fire it off and start to hook to the traiker. Yeah those folks didn't make it.
Check your oil, do an air test, permits, lights , horns (you have two ) windshield wipers and wash etc etc etc
When you start your going to see a lot of different equipment. Compliance wants to make sure you are looking for stuff in a PTI and not just throwing your gear in and rolling.
But there will not be anything to find. Or should not be.

You also have continuity (reflective) tape at the upper top corners of the bunk, on mudflaps, 50% around sides of trailer, top of and below trailer door, across ICC bumper. License plates. Annual inspection for tractor and trailer. Trailer registration. 3 points of contact entering and exiting the tractor. 3 points of contact winding landing gear. Not using 2 fingers to wind landing gear. Lots of lug nuts(check each one). I could go on and on but you will do fine.
