There is no citation#, therefore no citation was issued. They noted it on the inspection form, so TECHNICALLY it wasn't a "clean" inspection, but since overweight violations carry no points, for all intents and purposes, there isn't really a difference.

Does Washington do like ohio does ? They will determine a fine assessment later and notify you if you have any major violations on an inspection. Maybe Washington does the same ?

Not Maryland. If you’re getting fined here you’ll know it immediately.

A similar situation happened to me in the 1970s with a pre-loaded, sealed trailer out of Detroit's Hare Cartage going to Milwaukee. I was overweight on the trailer at the Grass Lake scale. The officer took all of my information on a scratch pad and sent me on my way. I assumed he received a steak dinner the next time Keyline's safety man stopped at the scale. I kicked off two gaylord boxes of gears at our Chicago terminal for which there was no bill of lading in the large manila envelope, and proceeded to Milwaukee.

I agree with @Pedigreed Bulldog here. I also made bold your primary mistake. Even if you think you are close weight wise, get that thing cat scaled!

That’s a pretty idiotic load job to have an axle overweight with only 35k. Did they put everything in the rear half???

Unemployment is at a 45 year low.

Jobless claims cling near 45-year low

I suspect various authorities are frightened to clamp down on penny ante violations, else we might consider working at a truck stop, talking to the cute cashier.

Remember how easy you got a job back in 1973?

Weigh each axle on the scale at the shipper next time. Requires 3 steps, setting the proper brake for each axle weight, and a little math.

I'm pulling Home Depot preloaded trailers, and there's no scale at the shipper. It doesn't take long for you to be able to tell if it's questionable just by the way it feels when you pull it.

Nestle at Anderson Indiana does the same thing.

Easier on the shipping crew, instead of:
    2 pallets of Styrofoam
    2 pallets of bricks
    2 pallets of Styrofoam
    2 pallets of bricks
    2 pallets of Styrofoam
    2 pallets of bricks
    2 pallets of Styrofoam
    2 pallets of bricks
    2 pallets of Styrofoam
    2 pallets of bricks
    2 pallets of Styrofoam
    2 pallets of bricks
    2 pallets of Styrofoam
    2 pallets of bricks
    2 pallets of Styrofoam
    2 pallets of bricks
    2 pallets of Styrofoam
    2 pallets of bricks
    2 pallets of Styrofoam
    2 pallets of bricks
    2 pallets of Styrofoam
    2 pallets of bricks
    2 pallets of Styrofoam
    2 pallets of bricks etc.

    It’s simply

“Eddy, load the foam, then load the bricks”
