Im in no hurry. Found a good local Mack dealer that has a steady supply of used daycabs in the $20,000 range.
Talked to a CPG recruiter about leasing on with them.
She says the containers are often overweight and usually go through the mountains. Is that code for run nights and skip scales?
Thoughts?
Container Port Group Greensboro NC with a daycab?

Just curious if you signed up with CPG? I'm in Raleigh and came across them. Thinking of doing something.

No. I talked to some guys who work out of there. Mileage pay is just over $1.25/ mile.

I always wonder if the freight itself really pays that badly or if they just completely and totally screw the owner operators.

I'm pretty sure they are screwing the operators. I've met guys who pulled containers for different companies that said they made good money. But CPG is kinda bottom of the barrel here. -
they are just another port company but they did merged with ASF Transportation Group LLC recently so you have to give it a little more time to figure out what changes they have made to their operations to see if they make the company better or worse but the positive part is that one company not a bunch of brokers hint hint evans delivery services.
