just purchased my first truck in July. It came with a comfort pro apu. Did some research and can’t seem to find anything online with what my symptoms are.
During the summer the ac works just fine for the most part. Sometimes it’ll run all night Just fine and sometimes it’ll run for just an hour before showing the trip on the display, when this happens the ac restarts and runs fine as long as I want it too with the display showing reset.
Now that it’s getting cold at night I tried using the heater and it always shows trip within a minute or so and the heat stops and does this same cycle before I just give up and turn the apu off.

I believe the apu to be a 6000 or 6100 if those are the correct model numbers.

Thanks in advance for any advice in what I might look for into fixing this issue.

I stopped using the heater on mine. Its a 2010 and on the high heat setting it cuts the power to the 110 outlets and if you open up the unit you'll see the heater is a bunch of small coils that heat up literally glowing red and then air blows over them which made me a little nervous. For heat I just run the apu and plug my heater into the 110 power outlets. Uses a lot less power that way too.

I’m not sure how old this apu is. My truck is a ‘15 but that doesn’t Necessarily mean anything. When I got it the apu showed 1600 and now has 2200 hours on it. I have yet to find a direct 110 Receptacle that’s tied into the apu like most people talk about having.

Mine is on a Volvo VNL730 with the work station. That model comes with (3) 110 power outlets inside and shore power so the apu is connected to the power outlets inside also. One of the good things about the comfort pro is it also has a shore power cord. So you can unplug the HVAC unit from the generator/engine and plug it into a shore power terminal or if your apu engine ever quits working you could take it out and replace it with any generator (gas or diesel) and it would run the HVAC system. You wouldn't have all the other perks like battery monitor, or timed start-ups though
