Well said and, very much the truth.
I can book dedicated out one or sometimes even 2 weeks with a couplw a of agents but i had to figure out how to get my foot in their door first. To do that, i had to work my hustle. Take their load, make sure it is there on time. Make sure the customer is happy, not just satisfied. You'd be very uprised how much one or two calls from a customer can do for you. Or to you.
I hate to quote Kevin Rutherford but,
"Do the hard work."
You will see the benefit.

 

I will tell you the truth about landstar . There is open market freight that landstar accepts say for 2 dollars then they make a landstar contract for 170 and Avertise it and then take 37 % from the 170 you will never make much more than a company driver working there. Do a Google search for owner operator companies that pay up to 90% on open market freight and they will always show the real contract not a company made up contract

 

Screw that. I'm headed back to the shipper with it. Along with the name of the person that refused the load, and their signature on the paperwork.

 

Yeah sure most people would refuse to sign anything. Have fun with that one.

Landstar , Schneider all mega fleets take too much of your hard earned money and sacrifices ,do a Google search for companies that pays owner operators up to 90% of the open market contract not the mega fleet contract with a percentage taken off the top open market contract and then the mega fleets makes a company contract for a lower amount and then takes a big 37% off of the company contract. Smaller companies pay up 90% of the open market contract if you have a truck and trailer and up 80% with tractor only. And you make so much more money that after working for a smaller company that you can afford to but a brand new trailer and truck with all the extra money that you make vs a mega fleets

 

You are just trolling, landstar does not charge 37%. I doubt that you have been leased on here. If you were, then your math explains at least one of the reasons you failed, there are probably a lot more reasons you couldn't make it.

 

35% of 98% or the true math 37% of 100% . I worked there and I was failing and I didn't understand why until I started doing research and found out about all the landstar smoke and mirrors . Example 6 cent fuel discounts are ridiculous because Travel centers of America have the higeshi priced fuel in the interstate and 6 cent discount is still 20 or 30 cents more than the mom and pop stop stores than you can find by using the fuel book app . Would you like more examples . I left landstar and started making real money not just enough to servive to carry on and be fleeced more by landstar
