That's good enough. When you been around a while, the targets get lower anyway. :biggrin_25525:

I was having one of those yesterday, parked at a truck stop, watching football and being quite content to be forgotten about, when suddenly the QC beeped at me long about 4:00pm. It was a message telling me to bobtail a couple hours away and repower a load from another driver. Message made a point of telling me that I would need to unhook the other truck myself and retrieve the paperwork.

Turns out, the driver of the other truck had to go to the hospital. Wasn't told why, not that it's any of my business. So I drove over to the Alta truck stop off I-64 in WV and took over the load. And man it's weird driving someone else's truck, even very briefly just to unhook a trailer.

I moved the dude's bobtail over to a non-full-sized parking space so as to keep the full-sized spots open for trucks with trailers, went into the building to let them know what was happening so they wouldn't tow the truck, gave them all the relevant info, etc. Dispatch had informed me that they should have someone to come pick up the truck in a day or three, so that's what I told the folks here at the truck stop.

Finished watching football, watched my beloved Saints gain some small measure of revenge against the Vikings for last year's playoff game, and went to bed. Long about 3am, someone bangs on my truck. Turns out, it's the other driver, with a HUGE bandage across his face and nose.

So now I guess I know why he was in the hospital.

Mom’s okay and stubborn as ever. Has kind of made my life turn upside down. Abilene has made me local for as long as I need it, but even though it’s only been a week, it feels like an eternity. I hope things calm down a bit with her so I can go back OTR. (NEVER thought I’d say that!!!!) LOL

Good to hear she's still fighting. Must be tough on you though. I don't think I could do local at all. Hope it all goes back to normal quickly for you. :)
