I would probably know what "normal" is if I had replaced my coolant reservoir prior to these issues. It hasn't been see thru since I've owned the truck lol

My truck doesn’t have a resivoir. It just has a tube the runs down the frame. So if I overfill it just spills on ground. When I gets hot enough

Did you check heater valves for a small air line? Don’t know about Volvo’s. In 98 a lot of Trucks had air over electric control valves. Turning off water valves on motor will tell if bad ( no heat) they usually put air into system once Cab or Bunk reaches desired temp and shut off . Once valve closes with bad valve air goes into system (100 psi ) May only be on bunk heater Cab may have one too or be cable manual type

I’m thinking you turned on water valves for heat recently? Problem came back?

I had opened them a few weeks ago but this week I had shut them back off bc it warmed back up on us. So this problem has only happened with heater valves closed.

I had the same thought but yeah it would be the other way around

Hi. I have 2013 Peterbilt, Paccar MX13. The coolant is overflowing from coolant tank. The radiator cap, thermostat, egr cooler, air compressor and the coolant tank all good but still have the same issue. Does anyone know what is going on

Most likely as it may not be pressurizing, the coolant needs pressure to work correctly.

Also, hook it up to a vaccume machine and pull a vaccume on it to see if it pressurizes.

Pull your oil fill and see if it has blow bye while running. Put your hand over it and if it pushes it off or feels like a good bit you could be having your compression reaching your coolant. Heck dipstick and crank breather.
