I installed a wet line PTO on my transmission. I can't Bolt the oil cooler in because it actually hits the PTO.

I probably can fabricate a different kind of a hanger or spacer or something but I'm wondering how bad it would be on the transmission if I just bypass the oil cooler.

The transmission is an RTX 14610. The engine is a big cam Cummins putting out I'm going to guess somewhere around 450+ horsepower.

Local work in cooler climate prob be ok, guy I bought my w9 from had this 10 speed done like that with the hose looped.

I've had another trucks cooler get gunked up pretty much completely transmission would warm up pretty good hammering down a Texas highway when it was 100+.
Got up to 230 I think.

In the summertime here in Pennsylvania does get pretty hot.

Although I hadn't really thought about it, I do have a temperature gauge for the transmission so I could keep an eye on it. Does anyone know with those Transmissions normally run at?

I put a reman in years ago that had an internal pump. The old trans had no cooler. I called the supplier about this.
Was told to just put plugs in the ports since it is running regional. If it was an interstate cruiser would want a cooler on it. That worked fine.

I have a loop on mine and only time temp climbs is on open road on a hot day. Temp may get close to 200. My cooler line sprung a leak coming from the front of the truck. Line is run under radiator. Its a 10 sp not sure of model number. When time to rebuild or replace I'm going with a 13 or 18sp. Replace cooler then. I am in western pa. Only run in ohio, pa, ny and west va.
