I haven't been on the forum in quite a while but have found myself in search of a new job. Preferably pulling a tanker again. I've been doing it (the tanker gig) for nearly 16 years or so over the past 22 years that I've been in this industry. I put my info/resume out there and immediately started getting responses and one company contacted me that I have never heard of and I've heard of just about all of them involving tankers/chemicals. They are called Dependable Tank Line out of Highland Home, Alabama. They have made me an offer that sounds too good to be true but I just don't want to cut ties with my current employer without checking them out. I can't find out anything about them so I'm here asking if anyone here has worked for them or knows anyone that has. They claim to have a small fleet of 379/389 Petes and newer trailers which sounds nice but that's not going to be enough to make me jump ship just yet. I've been doing this long enough to NOT be enticed to take a job based on equipment alone. Thanks in advance and sorry for the rant.

I'm not going to waste vacation time on a whim like that. I'd rather see if anyone's familiar with them first. I have other offers on the table it's just this company has made me a decent offer but some things promised by them seem iffy at best. Thanks for the reply though!

"Such as"......Their equipment. The recruiter at first claimed that they had a fleet of about 20-25 Pete 379/389's. I asked since its such a small fleet what truck would I be getting and he couldn't give me a definite which was odd since he mentioned that he had "a truck open". How would you not know this? Being able to make it by the house every few days. My restart also being done at home. I also asked, since its supposed to be a regional position, how long I would typically be out for. I was put on hold and then told "a week or so". Thats not bad but I got the impression that this guy was just trying to get me to take the job so he could get paid. When i asked about what product/account woukd more than likely bring me home he made mention that they are still in the process of getting work in my area. I just dont want to get stuck only a few hundred miles from home because they have nothing near where I live to get me there. We've all talked to recruiters before and if you've been in this game long enough you know when your BS detector goes off you're usually right. I should probably just lose their number but wanted to come on here and see if anyones heard/worked for them. Maybe I'm wrong in assuming the worst?

FWIW, I run I-10 fairly frequently and I've never seen one of their trucks. I'm not sure that means a whole lot. They are a young company based on what little you can find out about them on the Net. It doesn't appear that they own their own trailers. I might be listening to that BS detector of yours.

Yet another reason I came on here and asked about them. I also run I-10 on a daily basis and I can't remember ever seeing any of their equipment. And I'm starting to do like you said....listen to that BS detector. Thanks for the input my friend .

CSA not too bad. Safer has them at 21 trucks, 19 drivers, non hazmat interstate, hazmat intrastate, liquids and gases but no chemicals. Did they tell you what they haul?

He told me it would be a combination of both haz and non hazmat liquids.

I have a rule of thumb to never do business with a company that has Dependable, Reliable, Affordable, or any other "able" in their name. Just always seems to be bad news.
