Moisture in the oil fill

    im looking to buy a 2012 kenworth with a Cummins ISX. I took off the oil fill plug while engine was running and Could see what seems like a bit of fog coming out but no pressure . I noticed a bit of condensation inside the walls of the oil fill tube. Is this normal. My old truck had filled plug on top the engine .

    Well pull the oil for an OA and when you dyno the truck, you will get your blowby numbers.

    When was the truck last run?

    Yesterday but was run only at a dealer for a few minutes at a time since about 2 months

    The oil has been changed and run about three hours since . Woukd the oil analysis still be accurate?

    I would do analysis on the oil it's cheap. The mist could it possibly be oil mist from the reservoir?

    Mist could be smoke. Blow by test takes care of that

    Could be condensation in the oil from the truck sitting. It needs to get to operating temp and ran for a while to burn it off.
