With all this time on your hands behind the wheel, do you listen to any kind of radio shows or
documentaries or something besides the radio? Anything that isn't really pricey?
Audible is ok, but it costs a lot if you listen to a few and for me their is so much to pick from
I end up spending a lot of time trying to find something appealing. Are their any good education apps
that are pretty easy to use?
What do you listen to when driving?

Audio books on cassette are probably free! Depending on my mood, it's either AM talk radio, Sirius 97, 99, or 146, music on my phone, or the sound of wind whistling by the doors of my '18 Cascadia.

Podcasts and music. Sat radio if you can have it/add it/already got it. There is another thread out there in regards to podcasts. Wide variety of shows. Folks on here suggested a few I tried and enjoy.
You could do book on tape like another said but eh...Tapes get eaten. Cds get scratched. Get a Kindle, another tablet, or your phone an down load some audio books online. Audible isn't the only one out there, just the best known.
Good luck, not having something to listen sucks.
Sirscrapntruckalot - Moved a bunch of my books to the kindle in audio and text form...easiest way to carry 20+ books.Shotgun94 Thanks this. -
Some states have free access to audio books through local libraries. Check with your local library, get a library card, log in, and download as many free books as you like.

Anyone ever listen to an FM station and realize all of a sudden 30 mins down the road your hearing static due to deep thought? I do this probably more then I should. lol

Only fm I listen to is 101.1 in Detroit area Monday to Friday 6am-1030am. Dave and Chuck the freak morning show.
Satellite radio for some news and rock. I like 37 mostly.
YouTube through phone connected to input. Make a list of videos to watch turn quality to 144p and just listen. I like Peter Schiff for money talk, as well as other suggestions. Sometimes Ben Shapiro if I want to hear him wreck a bunch of socialists. Some society for men's freedom if I am in a particularly foul mood lol. All kinds of stuff that's suitable for listening Only, don't need to actually watch it. There's lots of documentaries also. YouTube is really good at knowing what you may be interested in. Unlimited data for the win! -

I like to find the rare type of speaker who can do a lecture on an interesting topic and be engaging in it. History stuff from James Burke or Dan Carlin's Hard-core History podcast. Science from guys like Michio Kaku who had a Saturday radio show Science Fantastic.
Debates or interviews on a topic with contrasting views. Its interesting to hear a long form discussion with no interruptions like what happens on network news. You can get decent casual interviews from the Joe Rogan podcast.
Or get either Comedy albums of their Audio books read by the author.
Or stream Pandora and discover new music from genres you like.
I'm moving soon and when I get another job I want to learn more about Philosophy by audio courses or podcasts.tscottme and tommymonza Thank this.
