If you leased 1st, how long did you wait until you got authority?

Approximately 1 year. I bought my first truck Sept 2011 on with a company. Had my own authority August 1, 2012. I saw way too much opportunity, and people that I knew would hire me to give up 25% + lots of extra accessorial charges and no discount on fuel or tires. No regrets. But I live in an area work is plentiful for what I do, and I am very good at what I do.

I leased a truck from the company for 2 years. I bought a truck and continued working under their authority for 2 more years. After that, my truck was fully paid and had 40k in the bank. The method worked, but it can be done sooner.

still leased on and I have no intention of going anywhere or getting my own numbers. I know it pays more, but I make plenty being leased on and I have no back office chores.

Yeah no reason for you to leave if everything works for you.

I thought about it, but I do tank now. I dont know how hard it would be to get all the permits for hazmat.
