im working in a 05 dt466e that blows tons of white smoke and misses at higher rpms, i replaced fuel lift pump due to low fuel pressure, had injectors benched tested and replaced 5 out of the 6, replaced cam sensor and finally puled the head and had it gone through and it still smokes and misses at higher rpm any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have a fuel pressure gauge and make sure you are getting about 60 psi? Also, try to make up a test fuel line and run it straight from the tank or a bucket in case the fuel is getting heavily aerated from the truck lines. I have seen injector harness connectors get crossed between 4 and 5 under the valve cover and cause issues like this.

When the truck first came in it only had about 45psi ish so replaced lift pump and fuel regulator in filter base and had a constant 60ish psi. It still smoked like a train and missed so sent the injectors to be bench tested and 5 tested bad and replaced them along with injector harness, still smoked and missed.pulled the head. Nothing looked like an obvious issue so sent the head in and they did cups and a couple exhaust valves. Still missed and smoked. Disconnected ipr while running didn't change, ipr pressure is within spec, disconnected egr with no change replaced cam sensor no change. I haven't tried running it from a bucket but will, I had a hose on the shrader on fuel manifold and didn't see and air bubbles.

If the turbo or any kind of exhaust is restricted, it will do this as the engine cannot breathe at higher rpms where the air flow is higher too. Any chance the air filter or air to air is plugged? Might have to try disconnecting the exhaust, or removing the turbo to see if anything improves. You are getting into weird territory here.

It's really throwing me for a loop, I replaced the air filter also ran it with no filter and open intake, I will double check the exhuast monday. It seem like a timing issue to me and I'm wondering if the there's slop in the tin on the cam gear or something of that nature but have never heard of that being a problem

Could be slop with the cam retainer and the cam shaft is walking laterally back and forth, but you would get cam codes and you would see scrape marks on the cam sensor too. When you had the head off, did you look down at the pistons and liners and inspect the walls for scoring?
