Nope I didn’t have a CDL only a CPL. I applied for assistant cement operator trainee.

I applied for Operator assistant - cement, too. I have a CLP, but trying to find a school that is local to obtain my Class A license. I live in Birmingham, Alabama. The trick is to find one that is cheaper than 4-6k. There is one at a community college that costs about 1500 but it is an hour away :-/. Without a working car, that sucks.

Go to Knight Transportation they'll pay for everything. They're down in Phoenix no contract. But you're working for them so I'd drive with them for a bit. Other wise without a car it'll be hard to find something because most companies who pay for the CDL expect you to drive for them

I have heard some really good things about Knight. I'll have to check it out.

How is the Haliburton school? How many trainers per student? Does it feel like a CDL mill or do they actually work with you?

Just as info, Halliburton uses independent companies to run materials. It's a way, if you already have a CDL,to get a feel for the work and the company. And BTW pays better than LTL. I pass LTL's all day as they ply along at governed speed while I run the posted limit on my own schedule.

In general I like their people, and I've been reminded by some of them that they are hiring and where to apply.

Just as an FYI, Halliburton just bought tons of new trucks because they're hiring dedicated drivers now. Just stated in the last month. I had 3 at my neo class last week
