There is a simple solution to this. Do not haul grocery products to food warehouses!! Your life will be much easier!!

Company I'm with does a ton of McLane...90% of the time its a good experience..
There are a few that are worse than others..but for the most part I don't have any issues.
All depends on who you're dealing with.

2 Crappy ones, I can think of on top of my head..
The one near Cinci (Hebron) takes forever to get into the gate.
    SGF MO recently they sucked.

That sounds like a crock of s***. If someone arrives on time at the yard, it's not his fault they can't get around to unloading him at that point in time. What next? They should get there a day ahead of schedule in case a receiver calls in sick?

Don't be extra. All I'm saying is give yourself plenty of time for issues like these. We all know how grocery warehouses are. It's not going to change so why cut appts close? For all the guard knows, the driver could have just pulled up in line.

I hope you learn to get out of that kind of trucking and do what I learned to do. Run for McKesson for example on high dollar narcotics, trauma kits, supplies etc to hospitals via distribution centers. They reload cardboard within the hour going back to memphis. Day in day out, same sunrise delivery every day. Just need to be on time and display prey behavior to avoid predators.

I talked about this often in these forums. My one regret that is I should have run for them back at 21 years old. Dispose of all the grocery, cold storage, lumpers and so on ######## that covers our Industry in the food section.

Maybe I charge them a fee for being on time eh? 150. Pay me. If they have me in a dock on arrival within 10 minutes and empty in 15 minutes by forklift the fee will be waived.

In this case I defend McLane. I ran for MBM for (Darden, Aberdeen Maryland) Red Lobster in the NE (4 particular resturants each weekend on salary) and never had any trouble other than a female dispatcher who was full of imagined authority based on the so called 16 hour law in logging.

Don't be "extra"? What is that?
And just how much time is "plenty"?
    What I say stands.

Badmon and TIMPTE 527 Thank this.
