They have a laundry list of problems. At the time my "sack' was empty, but I'm doing OK now. This new job is challenging, but I think the money will be good. I'm sitting in Atlanta waiting to get unloaded as I type this. 7 am appointment and it's 8:30. One dock. Don't you just love trucking?

Very true! Ironically I had a Volvo today that would run 72. I tried to be good, but I was running out of hours.

And it just keeps getting better. Got a home daily with a sleeper making even more per hour, layover pay and get a motel room. I'm buying him a steak dinner. Also got my Hireright report cleaned up. I appealed one accident and the company didn't respond, so they expunged it. Still on my DMV, but not listed as a preventable.

It's a secret, but they have yellow trucks. I had to resign. I was running the midnight shift and logging 580 a day plus commuting an hour each way. All told 75 hour week. I could never get enough sleep. But the money was great. I never put less than $1125 in the bank, and that's pure W2. Paid off a lot of bills and bought a newer car for cash. China is the man!

So an update to the ever changing saga. Before I could get resigned, I ended up tearing the meniscus cartilage in my knee. Had to have surgery, but it was not bad. Lost 60% of the cartilage. Out for two weeks. I told my boss that if the guys I was working for had another run, and I would be interested in that for shorter hours. It only goes from Nashville to Cartersville, Ga. So they need a weekend fill in and i was just sitting so told them OK. I liked the run even though 24 got closed down last Friday. I said if the run through the week ever opens up let me know. By some miracle i get a call back the next day and the guy that had it quit. So now I'm working Tues - Friday about 8 hours a day @ $26 an hour. Home for football just in time for the new season. Will only miss Thursday night. Guess I owe @Chinatown another dinner!

With that bad knee, does the company have an automatic for you.
Can a hillbilly even drive a truck with automatic transmission?
