    These are priceless for me.
Buy a good drill as well, and carry a spare battery.

I hope you are not offended by my question. Here it goes.

Take off the 3 axles in the back of that lowboy holding the tracked load. Put up a bridge that has 4 axles similar to what you have in the front of it?

I hope you understood my question perfectly, in my mind the three axles in the rear of that trailer is replaced by a 5th wheel and you bridge under there with 4 axles on a beam. That should solve the problem nicely if not add more to what you can haul.

I have a 50 ton 1996 model Aspen that I believe I could still sell for 30K. It is incredible to me how good quality lowboy trailers hold their value.

I wouldn't give you 30K for a brand new Witzco though.

It is not that easy. Again you are only moving the center of the rear axle group back about 2’ 3” - not nearly enough to offset the neck length. So you will still be loading to the front of the well and probably not be able to axle out. Also closed quad groups are not recognized in a lot of states and in some of those that do recognize quad groups you get severely cut back axle weights - TX AR NM.

Also building a 4 axle group to “slide” under the back end is going to run maybe $50-70k at least.

There are a lot of really smart people that come before us and they have a ton of experience- so if they haven’t come up with an easy way it is unlikely given the constraints of running in multiple jurisdictions that there is a great new solution.

Some times it takes the right tool to do the right job - @superhauler

And that tool is expensive and complicated and and a little abrasive

I appreciate you taking the time to answer and educate me.

I knew nothing about the states restrictions on what I would think may be useful axle groups. No wonder.

I'll continue to learn what I can because this is of interest to me. Again thank you kindly for writing back. Learned something today.

    Here is one more.

You would think that tracked load is snug and happy where it's at against the neck of the trailer. If you had it sitting say in the middle of that load pan or more towards the triple axles in the back, you would think that load will become a sort of Mr Tippy way more than it is already. Ive hauled a few truly monster single steel coil weighing 52000 by themselves on trailers that are not really the best choice for it. (They did not start producing V Bed Trailers purpose made for such big coil until about 10 years ago)

Thank you again for being tolerant with my not knowing about the states restrictions against my possible solution. Makes me wonder if the states want anyone to do anything HH or OS at all. Regulate the whole thing out of existence.

The laid stability is not influenced that much by placement in this case. The pipe layer is very side heavy and was blocked up on one side. The beam helps to lower the CG making it a little more stable. The beam is designed to be center loaded.

The D10 I am loading Monday is going to be 113k in about 8 ft of trailer
