I've heard from a few drivers in the past month, that they're around the 65k mark. Some higher here and there. So that makes sense, 100k seemed steep, but what do I know lol

I did car hauling 10 years ago so I'm info is a little old. But I don't think much has changed. We got 25% of each car. I did inclosed 8 car hauler. We did BWM and Porshe and Mercedes Benz. We had to deliver 36 cars a week minimum. I made good money but they keep you working all the time.

The things I got tired of, it took 3 hours to load the truck. We had walk go find every car in the big loading lots. The Union guys all hopped in one car drove each other around to drop each other off at the cars. Your loading in the summer heat and the winter cold. You load in the dark nights and the rain. We could no wear raincoat because it would get grease and dirt inside the cars.

Getting dressed laying in bed got old. Our trucks had small sleepers. No motel rooms.

It was fun driving a $180,000 Porshe or high end Mercedes Benz, loading then in the dark on raining truck when the ramps are wet. No so much fun because the tires could spin a little and the Mercedes Benz car are so wide, we only had 1 inch on each side of the tires to spare from hitting the tire rims on the truck ramps

You have to move a lot of cars and you make great money but it a lot of work. We never had to really worry about damage to the cars. I would inspect them before loading and the since truck has side curtains nothing could happen.

Another thing I did not like was home time. The cars always came first because the trucking company only had 24 hours to get a car on the truck once it was released by BMW. So I could have home coming up and they would say sorry you cant go home. The Boat in here and unloading so no home time. Even when they already approved my home time.

I’m gonna second this post. $65K-$80K for a company driver sounds more around the average range to me. Local work.

Is the $100K+ more for OTR drivers?

Things have changed drastically in 10 years none for a bigger paycheck that said hauling enclosed porsche m.b. BMW is a very small percentage and even that crew probably deals with plenty more b.s.and makes 20 percent less than before I guess you can say not bad considering rates are probably 30-35 percent for the rest of us. I bet the hours worked for a 3 to 5 car carrier break down less than a $10 an hour. I'm sure a clock punching job 10 bucks an hour with benefits would earn more for the same hours put in.

.27 cents a mile for new Porsches but dont get discouraged if when you call they tell you they can't dispatch it to a carrier with less than 350k cargo insurance. These are the results of everyone is a car dealer, car broker or car hauler. Notice we are listed last and you know what that means.

I know a husband/wife team doing cars and last year they took home somewhere in the $235,000 range. So yeah, it's out there.

Where do you live? 65,000 a year is what a good flatbed driver should make. I would not do this line of work for less than a 100 grand. It’s a lot of work and stressful at times. If the reward isn’t there I wouldn’t do it. My last year of flatbed home once a week and off weekends I did 65,000.

Yes it seems maybe an O/O makes over 100K annually, but I haven't met any that have made over 100K, as a company driver
