Hi again guys. Road testing a job for a contractor hauling US mail right now. But I want to get my 6 mos/year experience and go to car hauling.
My question is what car hauling like as far as pay is concerned. Is car hauling mostly local, regional or dedicated??
Do car haulers get sleepers??

I see car haulers all over the place with sleepers.
Edit: now that I think of it, I dont recall seeing a semi with a full 9 car rack that didnt have one. If I did i am not remembering. -
Theres a car hauling forum here you can go to that has your questions frequently asked.

North East is the haven for car hauling. You will often see cars paying $1.3-1.7 a mile. 3 Car load makes $3+ a mile.
First get insurance quote.
Then decide Dually or Tractor. Dually and 3-4 car trailer is good start. You are not sitting on payment bomb.
Get all necessary documents, register at FMCSA to obtain MC number and DOT.
Register your truck under IRP
Get IFTA, Get highway used tax stickers based where you are, you need one in NY.
get proper E-ZPass.
Get Apps like GOFORIT, SUPERDISPATCH to eliminate paperwork. Believe me you need them. GOFORIT is best for independent car haulers, Superdispatch for large fleets. -
Thanks for the advice bro. R u a hotshot urself?
The problem for me is I dont know what truck I should buy.
I have looked at dually types like 3500s and 4500s.
But there are slightly bigger trucks too by Ford for example like the f550, f650 etc.
So which one would be best and how many max number of cars can I pull with a hotshot??
