That would be Connecticut. Their newly elected governor decided to put tolls in for trucks, just like Rhode Island.
I guess some of us will be taking the Thruway to the Mass Pike!lol
On a high note that means we wouldn’t have to deal with the scale houses on 95,91 & 84 anymore!

That's a nice slice off that Decapitation Bar. They do not make vehicles like they used to. Hammer it with a Mark III or something with actual steel you might have the trailer be the unit that fails to absorb the smash.

That's one of the reasons I drive a Tahoe. A vehicle roomy enough to store some of those itty bitty cars in the back and close the doors.

    #### right about that. I would see an old 80’s beater hit a newer car in a relatively hard hit I would say probably 20 mph difference hit. The beater had the front grill and hood pushed in abit but would still be driveable while the newer vehicle was completely totaled. They make them weaker so the cars absorb the impact more than the person. Hard to say what I would choose some mean whiplash or a totaled car.

Another thing, you reckon if the carrier didn’t go cheap on the trailer would it have lessen the severity of this accident? Video related

I believe absolutely there are trailers that failed at the decap bar. I don't know all the science.

I have witnessed trailers with the correct bars (Great danes in particular) defend itself in a variety of really bad hits. One in particular... I wish I had a camera. 6.5 dude with a few bandgaids slapped all over him standing next to a waist high ball of crushed beer can ford taurus he just smashed into my number two's decap bar just north of the Pilot/ Petro interchange in San Antonio where the walmart is on the east side of the freeway and service road. I think summer 1998.

To this day I don't understand how drunk people like that young one can be so relatively undamaged and LUCKY when the car he is in turned into a tiger trap capable of tearing him apart.

I’ve heard drunk people tend to survive fatal accidents because they’re pretty much going with the flow versus a sober person tensing up and fracturing bones and tearing muscles because they’re stiffing up too much.

You would be better off not even leaving lights on where someone thinks you are driving down the road.

But PLEASE know how to do your ####ing JOB and at least deploy your triangles correctly. I've passed HUNDREDS of truckers on the side of the road in the last year, I can count on one hand the truckers that did it right.

The REASON why you get those reflective triangles out is...

...TO WARN ONCOMING DRIVERS OF A HAZARD!!!

Don't be the lazy ### driver that kills someone because you couldn't waddle 200 yards back to set the first visible triangle, or FARTHER if you stopped past the crest of a hill and/or curve. Do your ####ing job.

Saw one driver yesterday on the freeway shoulder, one triangle about 10 feet in front of his truck and second one 10 feet behind and the third 10 feet behind that.

They aren't going to do that to sleep. The next truck would run over them.
